New work :)

Sun Jan 10, 2010, 9:07 AM
I'm back to illustrating again after the Christmas break, Hooray!

I'm enjoying using my Copic markers at the moment so I’ve decided to stick with them, although before Christmas I was in a bit of a crisis when most of my greys dried up! I had to hold out until Christmas before I could restock :(

So with new Copics and a new year ahead of me I can hope to be updating more regularly. I have a few ideas in the planning stages at the moment which I would like to work on so I'm feeling quite inspired, now I just need to do the work...

Thanks for visiting :)

Thanks a lot for the visit! You have a very beautiful style and I'm really amazed how you create that watercolour-like effect with copics (I terribly fail working with them ^^;).

Thank you! I enjoyed visiting your gallery very much :)

To tell you the truth I was amazed at the effects the copics made when I first started using them! (which was quite recently) I mostly colour using block colours with the Copics so I think it just comes down to using the right shades really, so not really much Copic using skill on my behalf :XD:

Oh and I don't think you don't fail at working with copics at all, I really like the subtle colours you use :)
:iconamyinta:
Sorry! I meant 'I don't think that you fail at working with Copics' please ignore the extra 'don't'!

I'm so glad that you found me on deviant!
I love your style, and your subjects! I have a horrible time finding new people to watch, and I'm so happy that I got the chance to see your gallery!
:iconamyinta:
Aw thank you so much! I'm excited about finding you as well! :D

I know exactly what you mean about how hard it is finding people to watch on deviant art, it’s just wonderful knowing there are other illustrators out there who are inspired by the Golden Age. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work :)

Thank you for the watch as well :D

Your style is so much like :iconhimmapaan:'s!! :D Great stuff!

Oh thank you that is really such a compliment! :)

Niroot is such a master of traditional book illustration and I am a great admirer of his work. As well as being inspired by the Golden age of illustration, particularly Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac, I have been very much inspired by Niroot as he is one of the few contemporary illustrators I have come across whose work is influenced by the greats of the Golden Age.

My technique is entirely different though, using Copic markers is far from traditional!
:iconpaperspiders:
I am heavily inspired by Niroot as well. I've tried out some of the techniques that Edmund Dulac and other Golden Age illustrators used also, in watercolour.

Again, I am positivly giddy with excitement over finding you! Or perhaps vice vera, still!
:iconamyinta:
Ah how exciting experimenting with techniques that Dulac used, I've always dreamed of being able to master water colours but unfortunately they are just the wrong medium for me :(,
I will enjoy watching your watercolour paintings progress :)
:iconrstovall:
My eyes deceived me! I was looking at your featured piece and thought that you were using watercolor as Niroot does! :ashamed: But still - using a different method to create beautiful is ok! I'm the one who created his webcam animation - so it is obvious I don't mind stepping into the 21st century to create art! Nothing wrong with it! I have never used a copics - but I hear everyone on dA saying they want some?~!
